Ideally located between Cannes and Nice, with a seafront facing Baie des Anges, Antibes is both a city of history and culture. Established since the Phocaean era, it benefits from the influence of the urban area of Nice and the employment area constituted by the Sophia Antipolis technopole.
Antibes is the second largest municipality in the Alpes-Maritimes department in terms of population (75,000). Its dynamism is due to its ideal location on the Mediterranean Coast, close to Nice (23 km), Grasse (15 km) and Cannes (10 km). The train line that goes through the SNCF station in Antibes serves Cagnes-sur-Mer, Nice, Monaco, Menton and Ventimiglia (in Italy), while the proximity of the Nice - Côte d'Azur airport ensures a national and international gateway for the municipality. Economically, the city enjoys the influence of the Sophia Antipolis business park, which includes a university and several hundred companies specializing in innovative technologies - providing jobs for both Antibes and the department.

In Antibes, many monuments can be visited, such as the naval and Napoleonic museum, the Fort Carré, built under Henri II and restored by Vauban, the Museum of the Tower, retracing the history of Antibes throughout the twentieth century as well as the ramparts of Old Antibes district and Porte Marine. Port Vauban, dedicated to yachting, has become a point of tourist interest thanks to Quai des Milliardaires - where the largest yachts in the world moor.
The city also offers a rich cultural activity. Its main artistic attraction remains Picasso Museum, installed since 1970 in Château des Grimaldi (a 15th century building), and presenting some 245 works by the master. Antibes also hosts a jazz festival in summer, as well as a festival of sacred art held inside the cathedral Notre-Dame de la Platea.
