After the emblematic exhibition of Tutankhamun in 1967 at the Petit Palais de Paris, which attracted an impressive 1.2 million visitors, the city of Paris repeated its efforts in 2012 at the Parc des expositions de la Porte de Versailles with a reconstruction of the treasures discovered in the tomb of the famous pharaoh.

The Grand Egyptian Museum project is expected to open in 2022 near the famous pyramids of Giza, a museum that will display more than 100,000 objects over 490,000 m², it will be the largest museum in Africa and one of the largest museums dedicated to ancient Egypt. In order to contribute to the influence of this project, the Egyptian government has decided to present its exhibition all over the world in order to highlight its heritage and its future museum. The exhibition "Tutankhamun" is composed of 160 objects located in the tomb of the young pharaoh and will begin on March 23, 2019 at the Grande Halle de La Villette in Paris.
