This summer, you will be able to go on holiday throughout France subject to localized restrictions depending on the evolution of the health situation. It is therefore more than time to decide on your summer destination! Where to go in July/August? With which mode of transport?

On rails, on the road or in the air?

This year, the "holiday road" could well be fraught with difficulties. Even if air traffic begins its (timid) recovery and trains should generally be running, the best transport solution will still be the car. Indeed, in a personal vehicle, there is no need to maintain safe distances from third parties and to spend hours breathing under a mask. In addition, the car remains the preferred mode of transport of the French according to a YouGov for Bip&Go survey conducted in 2019 (relayed on this page). Parking solutions in the heart of the city and daily or weekly packages, as proposed by Q-Park, have also greatly simplified the issue of parking. All that remains is to choose your destination...

By the sea, in the mountains or in the countryside?

Que faire cet été en bord de mer ? Que faire cet été à Chambéry ou Grenoble, aux portes des Alpes ? Que faire cet été à la campagne ?

The sky, the birds, the beach... The seaside remains an attractive holiday destination, even for parents who see it as an opportunity to let their children wade and build sandcastles. But the coast offers many other activities: the seaside towns are full of attractions for young and old alike, from the remains of ancient times to be explored (the ramparts of Saint-Malo, the Royal Tower of Toulon...) to the marinas (the famous "billionaires' quay" in Antibes), giant aquariums (Nausicaá in Boulogne-sur-Mer), walks in the Marseilles creeks, and tastings of local products (who said anything about Bordeaux wines?). ).

In summer, the mountains become a paradise for sports enthusiasts and hikers. It is the occasion to practice really different activities - canyoning and other white-water sports, mountain bike descents, paragliding and so on - or simply to organize long and beautiful walks in the middle of an invigorating nature. For those who prefer to stroll, the big mountain towns provide a great backdrop: you can't get enough of the narrow, labyrinthine streets of Chambéry and the historic buildings of Grenoble, let alone the local culinary specialities - which are good for the stomach! Something for the whole family to enjoy, whatever their tastes.

Between serenity and intensity, holidays in the countryside are far removed from the usual clichés. The big cities in the interior are both havens of calm sought after by those fleeing the crowds and starting points for a host of activities likely to titillate thrill-seekers. For the former, a barge cruise on the Canal du Midi in Toulouse, a stroll through the timeless alleys of Uzès, or a gourmet itinerary in Poitiers will help recover from a stressful year. For the latter, the many outdoor activities around Millau or Chalon-sur-Saône (bungee jumping, canyoning, parachuting, tree climbing...) will be an excellent way to spend the energy you have accumulated.

Whatever your preference, Q-Park offers parking solutions in all these cities, with daily or weekly packages. This summer, leave your car at the car park and enjoy what France has to offer!

Q-Park France is implementing new health measures to guarantee the safety of its customers and employees:

  • The cleaning frequency of the contact areas (lifts, handrails, door handles, intercoms) is increased.
  • All employees are equipped with Personal Protective Equipment: masks, gloves, and face shields.
  • The list of good practices is displayed, and customers are reminded of barrier gestures, such as hand washing when retrieving the vehicle.
  • It is recommended to use the lift "one family at a time" to respect the distance measures.
  • Contactless means of payment are preferred.
  • Reserving parking spaces from q-park-resa.fr, the online reservation site, is recommended.

Thank you for respecting barrier gestures during your visits to our car parks and for respecting distancing measures in public areas and lifts.
