Christmas is coming, and the little white chalets are beginning to pop up in many French towns!

Strasbourg’s famous Christmas Market is unrivaled, and you have to visit it at least once in your lifetime and be enchanted by it. However, if you can't take a trip east this year, we have picked some markets from all over France that you should not miss:
 
  • Bordeaux (Allées de Tourny)
From 25 November to 26 December, 2016, the Allées de Tourny will be THE place to meet for all the magic of Christmas: roasted chestnuts, hot mulled wine, Santa ringing his bell, etc. More than 40 artists and craftspeople will be present at the Christmas Market, exhibiting their creations. Book your parking space at the Clémenceau car park, a five minute walk from the market from the Cours Georges Clémenceau.

  • Grenoble (Place Victor Hugo)
From November 23 to December 24, 2016, more than 100 chalets of merchants will make up the Christmas Market in the heart of Grenoble. Decorated in a mountain village style, many free festivities will light up the town center: processions, parades, concerts and many other attractions. Book your parking space at the Chavant car park, a ten minute walk from the market from the Boulevard Maréchal Lyautey.
 
  • Lyon (Place Carnot)
In the area of 2nd arrondissement, from 24 November to 26 December, 2016, the Place Carnot will be lit up and decorated to become a true Christmas village. The talents and know-how of the organizers, craftspeople and businesses of the region will really be showcased! You can also enjoy many events and entertainment (workshops, screenings, storytelling, performances, etc.).   • Marseille (Old-Port)
More than 80 wooden chalets will greet you in the magnificent Vieux-Port of Marseilles. The Christmas Market will be open from 14 November to 31 December, 2016, which means you can visit the booths again and again, for the local crafts, gift ideas, jewelry, etc. Book your parking space at the Old-Port car park, a seven minute walk from the market from Place Jules Verne.
 
  • Metz (Place Saint-Louis)
Starting 19 November, in Place Saint-Louis, you can visit the almost one hundred exhibitors, who will make the historic city center more exciting than ever. The second most visited market in France, after the Strasbourg market, the Metz market will be open until 28 December for your enjoyment!   • Nice (Place Masséna)
From 3 December, 2016 to 1st January, 2017, the Christmas Village of Nice will have sixty chalets for the local artisans. Marvel at the beautiful lighting in the city, and in the Place Masséna, the village stage will have a dazzling light display. Book your parking space at the Notre-Dame car park, a ten minute walk from the market from Avenue Jean Médecin.
 
  • Paris (Champs-Elysées)
From Friday 11 November, 2016 to Sunday 8 January, 2017, visit the most beautiful avenue in the world to see the Christmas village, which extends from the Grand Palais to the Place de la Concorde. There you will discover crafts and a “100% French” gourmet village. The children will be spellbound, and can have fun on the ice skating rink, the dozens of carousels and a Ferris wheel! Book your parking space at Les Invalides car park, a ten minute walk from the market from the Quai d’Orsay.
 
  • Rouen (Place de la Cathédrale)
Visit Rouen’s city center to see more than 80 exhibitors showcasing their local specialties: traditional products, local creations and many gift items (organic cosmetics, cotton ball string lights, wooden toys, etc.) The festivities begin on 24 November and will go on through 31 December, 2016. Maybe you will have a chance to see Santa Claus, who strolls through the streets handing out sweets! From 2 December to 24 December, 2016, enjoy a moment of conviviality at Valence’s Christmas Market, and share the magic of this festival with Santa Claus. This year, in addition to the hundreds of chalets of exhibitors, you can visit an enchanted forest, take a carriage ride and enjoy the view from atop the Ferris wheel!
